an exceptional artisanal creation, your diptyque candle deserves the utmost care.
here are a few tips to optimize its lifespan and to help you enjoy it safely.
prepare your space
– place your candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface.
– protect delicate materials such as wood or marble with a stand or tray.
– keep candles away from flammable materials.
– keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
light the candle
– we recommend lighting your candle with a match to avoid any risk of burning yourself.
– during the first burn, make sure to let the candle burn until a uniform pool of melted wax has formed (about 4 hours depending on the scent). this prevents the wax from tunneling and allows the wick to absorb the wax properly, ensuring an even burn thereafter. wicks may produce a small amount of smoke when first lit.
while burning
– do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time after the first burn.
– never leave a burning candle unattended.
– do not move a burning or unlit hot candle.
– keep it away from draft.
– leave at least 10 cm (4 inches) between two candles.
after each use
– snuff out the flame: use a snuffer to avoid splashing hot wax.
– re-center the wick once the candle is out.
– before relighting your candle, use a wick trimmer to trim the wick (ideal length: 3 to 5 mm) to avoid risk of fire.
final note
– stop using your candle once there is only 5 mm of wax left or the metal wick sustainer base becomes visible.
after care & storage
– we recommend airing out the room after burning a candle.
– allow the wax to cool completely before moving your candle.
– store it in a dry, temperate place (15 °c–25 °c / 59 °f–77 °f), away from direct sunlight to avoid discoloration, pigmentation or dislodge of the wax.
